Who We Are

Chaplains & Staff

Norman Malloyd Jr.

Chaplain Norman joined ECM in January of 2020. He has been happily married to his wife, Sharon, for 25 years and has 5 beautiful daughters and 5 grandchildren. He and Sharon have been serving together in ministry for 23 years, including in Children’s Church, Bible Study and Youth Ministry. Both Norman and Sharon are ordained ministers at the Lighted Path Christian Church International, under the leadership of Dr. Bori Oginni, Pastor. Norman has been involved with coaching basketball and track and field with youth for 20 years. He was a teacher for Pre-K through 8th graders and an instructor at UMSL in the Criminology and Criminal Justice Department for 9 years. Norman has been a Victim Offender Dialogue Program volunteer for the St. Louis County Family Court for over 22 years and is a member of the Juvenile Conference Committee.

Norman’s passion is in the Street Ministry, where he has been involved for over 22 years. He believes in the redeeming power of the Lord Jesus Christ! He has witnessed many souls come to Christ and live the abundant life which the Lord Jesus promises in John 10:10. Norman knows from his own experience that the preaching of Gospel comes with power to heal, deliver and make whole. He believes in the mission of ECM, because it is the mission of Jesus Christ to visit and care for those who are in need, and in doing so, we will be doing it unto Him.

Norman loves serving alongside the other ECM Chaplains, volunteers and staff as the love and grace of our Lord Jesus Christ is displayed in its various forms to the youth and their families at the detention centers.
